High fields mother-of-two and secondary school teacher Robyn Carter has been announced as the 2017 Face Of Weetwood.

The sports-loving 34-year-old loves racing and was thrilled with her appointment.

“Being the Face Of Weetwood provides me with an excellent opportunity to meet and work with some of the exceptional people from across our region. It will be so interesting to experience the racing industry from a different perspective and be able to share these experiences with my family, friends and the students I teach.”

Robyn, a teacher at Downlands College and healthy-lifestyle advocate, has a keen interest in fashion and often makes her own headwear for local racing events she attends – often with winning Fashions On The Field results.

“I love dressing for occasions – especially the races.

“I also love being a role model for young women, particularly my students, providing them with knowledge about nutrition, lifestyle balance and body image.”

Robyn is a fitness enthusiast, she teaches Legal Studies, Accounting and Business and Food Technology at Downlands. She also coaches netball, touch football and basketball and loves attending local racing events.

She will represent Clifford Park at all Weetwood events, including the Weetwood Gala, the Ladbrokes Weetwood golf day, Breakfast With The Stars, barrier draw, the Ladbrokes Weetwood Calcutta sportsman’s lunch and, of course, the Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood race day.

Toowoomba Turf Club congratulates Robyn on her appointment as 2017 Face Of Weetwood and thanks all applicants for this year’s venture.

Toowoomba Turf Club (TTC) Chief Executive Officer Blair Odgers was thrilled by the quantity and quality of applicants, endorsing the community spirit that surrounds the history of Weetwood.

“The applicants were outstanding and the selection process was again extremely difficult,” Mr Odgers said.

“It’s wonderful to know that the ladies of our community are so passionate about racing and in particular, the Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood.

“Robyn, as the Face of Weetwood, will assist with raising the profile of the Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood locally as well as interstate.

“The community is extremely proud of this event and Robyn will represent the Weetwood and all associated events with confidence, style and sophistication,” Odgers said.

The dedicated Weetwood website, www.weetwood.com.au, will go live on Friday for all Weetwood information and ticketing.
