2023 Face of Weetwood

It’s the perfect next step for recently retired jockey and now 2023 Face of Weetwood Alex Patis.

Alex was thrilled when she was chosen by the Toowoomba Turf Club to be this year’s Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood Face Ambassador and is excited to be able to see the Weetwood carnival from a different angle this year, having only really experienced it from the “track side” in the past.

The 23-year-old describes herself as a “horsey girl” who loves her racing and spends a lot of her down-time either riding horses or heading to the track to watch her partner, who is also a jockey, ride.

Alex has a very strong desire to continue to work in and around the racing industry having just started a new business covering media and owner reports for racing stables.

“I’m very grateful and excited for the opportunity to be the 2023 Face Of Weetwood, Clifford Park has been a great place for me with riding so many winners for Toowoomba trainers and to have actually ridden on Weetwood day in the past. I honestly can’t wait for this journey and again very grateful.”

Alex will represent Clifford Park at all Weetwood events, including the Weetwood corporate golf day, Breakfast With The Stars community breakfast, barrier draw, the Weetwood Calcutta sportsman’s lunch and, of course, the Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood race day.

Toowoomba Turf Club congratulates Alex on her appointment as 2023 Face Of Weetwood.

“The Toowoomba Turf Club takes immense pride in our Weetwood Carnival, and are thrilled to welcome Alex to the party side of the rail as our Face of Weetwood”  TTC Chairman Jason Ward said.

“Alex has a wonderful history with Clifford Park and the Weetwood race itself,” Mr Ward said.
