The Weetwood Handicap is synonymous with Toowoomba. For more than 129 years this race has attracted fans to Clifford Park to be part of Toowoomba’s greatest raceday.
The Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood will again be a stand-alone metropolitan standard Saturday race meeting scheduled for Saturday April 6, 2019. This change has seen the Weetwood officially recognised as a major part of the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival and will result in the development of a ‘Super Saturday’ of racing that will gain national exposure.
To accommodate this momentous race meeting, the Toowoomba Turf Club (TTC) will roll out the largest event conducted at Clifford Park. The TTC aims to deliver a week of festivities that exhibits all things great about racing on the Darling Downs. The Toowoomba community will play a major role in these festivities with many community initiatives such as the Community School Colour competition, Breakfast with the Weetwood Stars event, Weetwood Calcutta and the Pin & Win Charity promotion all planned.
Destination Weetwood will target tourism growth surrounding the Weetwood week of festivities.
With the development of Wellcamp Airport and direct flights to Sydney, a specific marketing campaign will entice Sydney’s racing fans to experience the Weetwood.
This year’s Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood will experience a revolution, a transformation to one of the region’s premier events. A unique opportunity exists for your company to partner with the TTC during this transformation. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss in greater detail.
